Hot Apple Not-a-Pie (but kinda)

For when the cravings call and you don’t want to eat like shit.

Okay, real talk. I don’t know if someone has made this before. The first time I crunched into one of these chips, by Siete’s, I experienced a wave of fall nostalgia. It felt like fairground-in-October, crispy, cinnamon-dusted apple pie vibes, minus the gut bomb. I didn’t want to eat junk or spike my blood sugar into orbit. I needed something sweet. I wanted something crunchy. I also wanted something that didn’t taste like a sad diet compromise.

At this point, I hadn’t found a chocolate I trust, yet, and the craving was loud. I threw this together. Let me tell you, after months without sugar, it was like the heavens opened. The angels started singing, but it wasn’t going to send me into an inflammatory tailspin. Like those 90’s hot apple pies I was talking about in my blog, only without the regret.

It’s simple. It’s a little ridiculous. It’s the recipe you make when you’re one hangry moment away from throwing a blender across the room. But, it works. So here it is. Hope it makes your journey a little sweeter too.
